European Researchers' Night in Nicosia, Cyprus
The European Researchers’ Night is an initiative by the European Commission (EC) to promote a culture of academic exploration, encourage public engagement in scientific endeavors, and emphasize the role of researchers in society. Held annually in over 23 countries and 400 cities, it is one of Europe’s largest science celebrations.
In Cyprus, the program is supported by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), which leads national activities to align with the European vision, igniting public interest in science, bridging connections between researchers and the community, and creating spaces for dialogue, creativity, and exploration.
RAVATAR’s continuous partnership with RIF allowed for a shared goal — to bring audiences closer to science by making it interactive, accessible, and above all, exciting.

A Scientific Icon Reborn: Marie Curie Holographic AI Avatar
The theme for this year’s Nicosia edition of the European Researchers’ Night, “Mission Possible: Researchers on Board for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future,” was embodied by RAVATAR’s creation of the Marie Curie avatar, promoting inclusivity in science. Projected through the RAVABOX, a high-definition 4K holographic display, the AI avatar became the centerpiece of the event, seamlessly fusing storytelling, education, and technology.
From young children entranced by Curie’s lifelike responses to curious minds delving into her scientific achievements, the experience was immersive, thought-provoking, and truly memorable. It made history feel tangible and engaging, showcasing how AI can reshape learning — not just as a lesson, but as an adventure that inspires and bridges generations.
