Case Study Charles Fazzino AI Hologram

Charles Fazzino

Meeting the Master of 3D Pop Art

Some artists you admire from across the room. Charles Fazzino built a career making sure you’d lean in closer. For more than 40 years, the New York-born School of Visual Arts graduate has layered hand-cut paper into three-dimensional cityscapes so dense with color and detail that collectors still find new details and gems hidden in works they’ve owned for years. A King Kong on a rooftop, a tiny scene tucked into a corner, details you could stare at for years and still miss.

Fazzino is widely regarded as one of the most popular 3D pop artists. His works hang in the collections of presidents and cultural icons, from Bill Clinton to Paul McCartney, and he’s created official artwork for more than 20 Super Bowls and 20 Major League Baseball All-Star Games. At the Elliott Museum in Stuart, Florida, RAVATAR integrated him into the gallery in a new way: as a real-time Interactive AI Avatar, a lifelike AI hologram that greets visitors and talks about his art in person, every day the doors are open.

Fazzino’s art has always rewarded looking closer. Now, alongside the work on the gallery walls, his real-time AI avatar is there to talk about it, telling the stories behind the pieces and answering whatever visitors ask.

Background

The Elliott Museum:
Host of the Charles Fazzino Retrospective

The Elliott Museum stands on Hutchinson Island in Stuart, Florida, operated by the Historical Society of Martin County. For decades it has preserved the heritage of the Treasure Coast and reimagined how people experience it, guided by a simple belief: history and art should be experienced, not just observed. That appetite for fresh, hands-on curation made it a natural home for a year-long Charles Fazzino retrospective.

Over a 40-year career, Fazzino’s reputation has grown well beyond New York. His work is collected and exhibited across the United States, Europe, and Asia, in roughly 30 countries, and he’s created artwork for global events including the Olympic Games and the GRAMMY Awards.

Bringing an artist of that international standing to the Elliott Museum as a real-time Interactive AI Avatar gave visitors something rare: a digital twin of the artist, ready to share the stories behind his work firsthand.

Solution

A Real-Time Interactive AI Hologram of Charles Fazzino

Walk into the exhibition and Charles Fazzino’s AI avatar is waiting for you, life-size, inside a Holobox, RAVATAR’s holographic display. No headset, no screen, just him in three dimensions, ready to talk. A fitting form for an artist who has spent his career making flat pictures stand up off the wall.

RAVATAR created a lifelike digital twin of Charles, cloned his voice, and trained it on his own interviews, knowledge, and personality. It looks like Charles, sounds like Charles, and answers in his own words, in real time. Ask why he chose New York, or why there’s glitter on nearly everything he makes, and you’ll hear it straight from him.

The result is art with a voice. For visitors, that turns a gallery walk into a conversation: ask a question, hear the story behind a piece, and discover the hidden details you’d have missed on your own. It’s the closest thing to a personal tour from Charles, every day the museum is open.

Leadership Insight

“RAVATAR has introduced us to a wonderful new world, having created a custom avatar for us for our exhibit at The Elliott Museum in Stuart, FL. We had no idea what was possible, nor did we even understand the “avatar” language. They were an incredible team, taking us through the process step-by-step and clearly explaining how things worked and what we needed to do in order to help them meet a pretty tight deadline. The team was very responsive and taught us a lot…made the deadline…and created an incredible product. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.” — commented Julie Maner
