What is Synthetic Reality?

Synthetic reality is the next step in virtual and augmented reality development, built upon a combination of artificial intelligence and machine learning to create new, adaptive worlds and scenes. This immersive virtual-reality space provides a “living” environment for virtual characters and objects made by means of computer graphics, animation, and other digital techniques. It is formed by a multitude of connected virtual worlds so that there is no single central server – instead, each user creates their own personalized instance within the synthetic reality and “builds” a world around it.

This becomes feasible since such a computerized realm can anticipate user inputs or actions and adjust accordingly to generate the best outcomes, providing a real-time interplay between a computer system and a mind. This way, synthetic reality empowers users to embrace an incomparable level of involvement in fictional scenarios within made-up settings that otherwise is unattainable in the physical world.
